The American PC manufacturer HP has given the compact Z2 Mini workstation a makeover. It is now available with tenth generation Core-i processors with up to ten cores and a Quadro RTX 3000 (mobile) graphics card. This makes the Z2 Mini G5 suitable for rendering, image editing and office applications. Due to its small size, it can be mounted on the back of a monitor to save space.

Compared to the previous generation, GPU rendering performance is said to have tripled, according to HP. The manufacturer also promises an increase in 3D gaming performance by a factor of 2.5 compared to the Z2 Mini G4. At first glance, this seems unusual for a professional device, but according to HP, 34 percent of users also use their home office computer for games and private things.

The Z2 Mini G5 can be equipped with nine different modules, which, for example, provide additional graphics ports, Thunderbolt 3 or a second Ethernet port. The Z2 Mini G5 workstation is now available for purchase. Alternatively, they are also available in small-form-factor and tower variants. These will be available from the end of September.

Rack workstation with 18 CPU cores

HP offers the ZCentral 4R rack workstation for applications that require higher graphics performance. The manufacturer accommodates a Xeon W-2200 series processor with up to 18 CPU cores and a powerful professional graphics card up to the Quadro RTX 8000 in one height unit (HE). A redundant power supply ensures low downtime.

Allows employees to use the computing power of a high-performance workstation on any notebook or desktop PC, for example, from home. The software required for remote access, ZCentral Remote Boost, is supplied by HP.
